Built for librarians
Borrowing, donations, and insights suited to your library
OverDrive authorization adds tap-to-borrow for your patrons. Verification alone unlocks donations and anonymized insights. Choose one or both; either way, reader dollars and demand signals stay aligned with your library.
Grant OverDrive access
Adds tap-to-borrow for your patrons without new workflows. Can be revoked anytime.

Explore the portal toolsBorrowing access
Why we request OverDrive access (optional)
Worm’s readers discover books through lists, events, and community feeds. When they can tap “Borrow” and complete the loan inside Worm, circulation jumps, and your library stays at the center of the experience. If you’re not ready to authorize OverDrive yet, you can still receive donations and insights by completing verification.
- Readers tap “Borrow” in Worm and complete the checkout with your catalog. No redirects, no friction.
- Circulation increases because discovery, lists, and events all point back to your holdings.
- No extra workflows for staff. Standard OverDrive API access and credentials you can revoke whenever you like.
Your library inside Worm
Programs, lists, and events live inside Worm’s community view. Patrons see what’s happening locally, borrow instantly, and direct their ongoing support back to you.

One login for donations, insights, and controls
Worm’s Partnership Portal gives you the financial transparency you need and the anonymized analytics you wish ILS dashboards provided.
Revenue & donation dashboard
Every book purchase through Worm includes a library donation, paid directly to your Stripe account at checkout. Track each one and download statements for finance teams.
Worm Insights
Trending titles, genre heatmaps, wishlist demand, and early signals on surging authors, all without exposing patron-level data.
Program controls
Update public profiles, highlight events, and plug staff picks directly into Worm’s discovery feed.
Privacy-first verification
One-time compliance + Stripe Connect onboarding unlocks revenue. Opt in/out with a toggle, revoke access anytime.
Community revenue share
Readers decide which library their 4% donation supports. Revenue goes directly to your Stripe account at checkout. No campaigns, no waiting.
- Readers choose their local library during onboarding. A flat 4% of qualifying purchases is routed to that library via Stripe Connect.
- Revenue splits at checkout and goes directly to your connected Stripe account. Worm never holds your funds.
- If a library opts out of participation, their share rolls into the community pool. If opted back in, revenue routing starts again from that moment.

OngoingFrequently asked
What does Worm cost libraries?
Nothing. Libraries are core civic infrastructure, so the rest of the Worm network picks up the tab. Reader purchases fund your donations, and Worm covers the platform so you never pay license fees.
How is patron privacy handled?
Insights are aggregate-only. Borrowing data stays between patrons and your ILS. We only surface community-level trends.
Do we need new systems?
No. Worm layers on top of what you already run. OverDrive access is only required if you want patrons borrowing inside Worm, and it can be revoked anytime.
Can consortia participate?
Yes. You can route funds to a parent organization or individual branches depending on what works for your structure.
When does revenue start flowing?
As soon as you’re verified and readers start directing their share to you. Revenue splits at checkout and goes directly to your Stripe account.
