Welcome to Worm! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Worm app, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By using Worm, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. What Worm Is

Worm is a book discovery and tracking app built for readers, local bookstores, and libraries. We help you log your reading, get recommendations, and connect with nearby readers and indie shops.

We do not sell ads, track you across the web, or send you to Amazon. Ever.

2. Your Account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by your country) to create an account.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your account secure.
  • You can delete your account and data at any time by contacting us at support@worm.so.

3. Your Content

You may post reviews, ratings, or other content through Worm. You keep ownership of your content, but by posting you grant us a limited license to display it within the app and to other users.

  • Don’t post anything unlawful, harmful, harassing, or infringing on someone else’s rights.
  • We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules or local laws.

4. Privacy and Data Use

Your privacy is core to Worm.

  • No ads, no third-party trackers, no data selling.
  • We collect only the minimum necessary activity data to improve your recommendations and operate the Service (e.g., your ratings, shelves, and swipes).
  • Data is stored securely and never sold.
  • See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Worm may provide links to independent bookstores through partners such as Bookshop.org.

  • If you purchase a book through these links, Worm may earn a small affiliate commission.
  • Affiliate commissions do not affect the price you pay.
  • These purchases are subject to the terms of the partner bookstore or platform.

Worm may also offer optional premium subscription features.

  • Subscriptions are billed through third-party payment processors (such as the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Stripe, or RevenueCat).
  • Worm itself does not store or process your payment card details.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the relevant app store.

6. Community Guidelines

Worm is a space for readers. By using Worm, you agree to:

  • Respect other readers and their opinions.
  • Avoid harassment, spam, or hate speech.
  • Use Worm for personal, non-commercial purposes only (unless otherwise agreed with us).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
