Built for authors

A reader community that actually pays you.

Worm is where readers track their books, build wishlists, and discover what to read next. We’re building a way for those readers to support the authors they love. Directly, without ads, without algorithms, and without a platform taking most of the money.

Your space on Worm

Groves: where your readers gather

A Grove is your home on Worm. It’s a place for the readers who don’t just finish your book and move on. They want more. Early chapters, behind-the-scenes posts, conversations, and the kind of access that makes them feel like part of the story.

Readers subscribe monthly at tiers you set. You keep the vast majority of every dollar. No ads, no reach games, no hoping the algorithm shows your post to the people who already said they want it.

📝

Behind-the-scenes posts

Share drafts, deleted scenes, writing updates, and the messy middle of making a book. Your Grove is yours to shape.

📚

Early chapters & previews

Give your subscribers first looks at upcoming work. Build anticipation with the readers who care most.

💬

Reader Q&As

Host conversations with your community. Answer questions, take suggestions, or just hang out with the people who read your words.

❤️

Monthly subscriptions

Readers subscribe to support you on their own terms. You set the tiers, you set the price. No ads, no algorithmic reach games.

Worm+ integration

Seeds: passive support from readers who care

Every Worm+ member gets a monthly Seed, a token they plant on an author they love. It’s like a Twitch Prime sub for books. Readers don’t have to think about it. They just pick an author, and that author gets paid.

Every Worm+ member gets one Seed per month to plant on an author they love.
Seeds are passive income—readers don’t have to subscribe to your Grove to support you.
Seeds fund your Grove directly, helping you build a space for early work, behind-the-scenes posts, and reader conversations.
The more readers who plant Seeds on you, the more visible your Grove becomes in Worm’s discovery feed.

You keep the vast majority. Period.

We’re not building another platform that skims 30% off the top. Worm takes a small fee to keep the infrastructure running. Stripe handles payment processing at standard rates. Everything else is yours.

You

The vast majority of every subscription and every Seed. This is your work and your community.

Worm

A small platform fee that funds hosting, development, and the ecosystem that brings readers to your Grove.

Stripe

Standard payment processing. Same rates everyone pays. No hidden fees, no markups from us.

Why Worm

Built for readers, not generic creators

Other platforms make you build an audience from scratch in a silo. Worm puts your Grove where readers already live.

Patreon

Built for YouTubers and podcasters. Readers have to leave the app where they track books to go support you somewhere else.

Your Grove lives inside Worm, right next to your book pages. Readers don’t leave—they just tap.

Amazon KDP

You’re a product in their catalog. No direct relationship with readers, no community, and Amazon owns the customer.

You own the relationship. You see who’s reading, who’s supporting, and you talk to them directly.

Substack

Great for newsletters, but readers don’t track their book lives there. You’re building an audience from scratch in a silo.

Your readers are already here, logging books, building wishlists, and looking for authors to support.

Frequently asked

When does this launch?

We’re building Groves now and onboarding a small group of authors for early access. Reach out if you want to be in the first wave—we’d love your input on shaping the experience.

What can I post in my Grove?

Anything you want your readers to see. Writing updates, early chapters, Q&A threads, reading recommendations, personal essays, event announcements. It’s your space.

How do payouts work?

We use Stripe Connect—subscription and Seed revenue splits at the time of payment and goes directly to your connected Stripe account. Worm never holds your money. You keep the vast majority; we take a small platform fee.

Do I need a publisher?

No. Groves are for any author—indie, traditionally published, self-published, debut, or established. If people read your words, you belong here.

Can I use this alongside other platforms?

Absolutely. Your Grove on Worm doesn’t replace your website, newsletter, or social media. It’s an additional channel that lives where your readers already spend time tracking books.

How much do I keep?

The vast majority of every subscription and Seed. We take a small platform fee to keep the lights on, and Stripe Connect handles processing at standard rates. Everything flows directly to your Stripe account—we’ll publish exact numbers before launch.

Your readers are already here.

They’re logging your books, recommending them to friends, and wishing they could tell you directly how much your work means. Let’s give them a way to show it.
